040 EDDIE - Saturday Night Fever

040 EDDIE - Saturday Night Fever

Magpies let us rejoice... or is that reJoyce. What a big surprise to see the big man back from Canberra at training the other night. Seems the lifestyle at the Magpies was too much to resist. Looking trimmer and fitter than ever. He set a high benchmark for the other boys to chase in the conditioning drills. The Sherrif... well he had that warm and fuzzy glow about him.

With Camp Magpie just around the corner Joycey will take some pressure off the Eagle as I looked for a forward leader to put the finishing touches on pre-season preparations. Mind you there has been a couple of ex-internationals who have done enough in the pre-season to warrant a start. One, who I remember won a number of emmys at last years presentations, has made a departure from the training regime that got him all that success. He's apparently sworn of the pizza and beer for mum's home style Asian cooking. Must be doing him some good, no reports of the usual up and unders at training. More than can be said for his pal who gave us an insight as to what fish and chips look like partly digested. That little ray of sunshine...

The Long twins passed another milestone during the week with a birthday. A big family bash to celebrate. Literally kicking up the heels it appears that disco is not dead with the older one impressing with some old school dance moves. Some concern though over the preferred footwear. The flashy boots said to drive the younger bro' to drink. A box of king browns and another of dark and stormy were needed to try and erase the memory.

Hopefully Boasey will erase the memory of the poor form of the punters club and get the boys off to a flier. The Eagle has some black bookers if he's in struggle town. A certain tip is anything Zsar Zsar. Seems an old alias is making a return to the scene.

The footy finally starts this weekend with the young blokes playing at Davies this Saturday night Gliddo makes his return to the maggies in charge of the 16s. Will his boys play goodball sets or will he give into the pressure of the scout? All will be revealed from 6-30pm.

Until next time...
